About Me

Since 2018 I have worked hard on developing extensive experience designing within agile environments for a range of  products including a new technical SaaS product, a Cambridge University Learning Management System, and internal use authoring tools. My experience spans a wide range of different industries and user types, requiring a varying skills.

Life experience has heightened my drive to ensure that I promote the increasing need to create accessible and inclusive experiences both inside and out of the workplace. Leading an accessibility team in my current workplace, I thrive when able to share exciting new assistive technologies, provide training sessions to colleagues and test our products directly with access users.

Outside of work you'll always find me with a book in hand, whether it's a cheesy fiction book to relax, or mind-bending non-fiction to keep my brain buzzing. I am a massive foodie and love spending hours in the kitchen making a mess, or going out to discover the best local food places in town.

Work

2022 - Current

Experience Designer

Cambridge University Press & Assessment

Working on a Learning Management System used around the world, in this role I have thrived whilst making a direct impact on learners around the world and enabling them continue their pursuit to learn English. Stepping up in the team to become a specialist in accessibility, I am a Lead Designer for the newly formed Accessibility programme, mentoring junior designers in how to find their specialisms, and methods for testing and redesigning our platforms to achieve WCAG AA standards. Alongside this I am a Lead Designer for an internally used authoring tool, have formed an integral part of a platform redesign, and assist fellow designers on a range of projects - all making a role I am proud to talk about!

2018 - 2021

Operations & Marketing

Focus FM

The role that started my journey into UX & Product Design. This was a role that required daily adaptability, as myself & the Product Manager worked as a team of 2 to originate an industry first property auditing mobile and desktop app. What started as an idea on a whiteboard in one meeting became 3 years of exciting brainstorming sessions, hundreds of design iterations, wireframes, and users tests, and two amazing SaaS systems.

2017 - 2018

Marketing Assistant

Norwich Arts Centre

After completing an internship with Norwich Arts Centre during my degree at the University of Surrey, I returned upon graduating to work as an integral part of their Marketing team. Content creation and distribution were a large part of my day-to-day responsibilities, finding new and impactful ways to communicate with audiences. Working with our customers and getting to know who our key audience members were helped considerably with this, as well as being a part of the job I will always enjoy!
